Choose a Topic and Make it Matter
Check out the Make it Matter poster (or view the text below). With the criteria in mind, choose a topic that you find interesting and relevant, that you believe can work visually, that you believe you can find data on (or already have), and that you believe will matter to other people. For more inspiration, check out the Infographic Examples for Inspiration and Humor section of our Recommended Resources.

Set Your Expectations
Learn more about the infographic creation process before you start by checking out our Getting Started page, and set realistic expectations on our What to Expect page.
Finding Data
Go through the section “Where to Find Data” on the page “Data: Finding, Using, and Making Graphs.” Check out data resources related to topics that interest you. Remember to keep notes and sketches on your topic, as well as URLs where you’ve found data. If you are working in a group, share out and give one another feedback and ideas.
